Part-Time Member Services Representative

Part-Time Member Services Representative

Sundays 12-5pm

Responsibilities
Primary duties for a Part-Time Member Services Representative include, but not limited to:
  • Provide a welcoming environment to all members/customers
  • Provide information for customers in person or by phone on all Whitin Community Center membership programs; cost, discounts and member benefits.
  • Set up tours for prospective members; sells memberships.
  • Assist with the registration of all programs.
  • Build relationships with members and handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
  • Able to handle money and balance cash drawer.
  • Ability to communicate and work with other departments.
  • Handle additional tasks as needed.
Requirements
  • Must be extremely reliable
  • At least 17 years of age or older
  • Team player – willing to be flexible to cover other hours as needed including weekends
  • Strong customer service skills – in person and on the phone
  • Computer skills a must, experience with Microsoft Office a plus

Rockdale Youth Center Group Leader Assistant

Rockdale Youth Center Group Leader Assistant

Monday-Friday 2:30pm-5:30pm

 

Responsibilities
The Group Leader in Rockdale Youth Center is responsible for assisting with the creation and implementation of a school aged outreach program that aids a child in their academic, social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth. Group Leaders are responsible for planning and implementing daily programs, supervising program participants, behavior management and program development. Primary duties for a Part-Time Youth Outreach Group Leader Assistant include, but not limited to:
  • Maintain constant visual/auditory supervision of children, indoors and out
  • Document and communicate, to the RYC Administrator, Site Coordinator, or Group Leader any observed situations or concerns for children and staff.
  • Complete bi-monthly staff observations for all group leader assistants in your room
  • Conduct on-going observation and assessment of children’s progress, using technology provided. Observations must be conducted and recorded to meet all objectives and dimensions
  • Complete Progress Reports in timely manner as mandated by EEC
  • Provide child guidance and behavior management according to the center’s policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and participate in regular curriculum planning, implementation, reflection and evaluation
  • Participate in preparation of materials, record keeping and other essential tasks
  • Meet with parents on a periodic basis
  • Assure that the program meets the needs of the individual child and is responsive to the cultural and socio-economical background of the children and families
  • Maintain a plan for own professional development (IPDP), staying current in and/or taking courses leading to a certificate or a degree
Requirements
  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • EEC Group Leader Assistant requirements
  • Meet EEC requirements of CPR, First Aid, CORI, SORI, and Fingerprinting and a physical, will assist to obtain
  • Physical, mental and emotional ability to accomplish the job, including evacuating the building, with or without corrective devices and accommodations, including the ability to read and write, to hear the conversational voice, to speak and be understood and the ability to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds in an emergency
  • Meet EEC requirements for professional development hours completed each year and enter them into the PQ Registry under the appropriate Core Competency. This must include the minimum requirement for Diverse Learners.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word and email
  • Strong customer service, administrative and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills including: written and interpersonal

Part-Time Water Safety Instructors

Part-Time Water Safety Instructors

Weekday evening & Saturday morning shifts available

As a Water Safety Instructor of the Whitin Community Center, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of the safety and instruction to all participants in our Red Cross Swim Lessons. We are looking for someone who is energetic, creative, and passionate about working with people of all ages and is excited to make a difference every day in the lives of our swimming community.
Job Requirements
  • Water Safety Instructors (WSI) are responsible for teaching various American Red Cross Instructional Swim Programs at the Whitin Community Center.
  • Maintain discipline and general safety practices to all that are in the pool area while on duty.
  • Maintain course records in accordance with the Red Cross Classes he/she teaches.
  • Responsible for Swim Instructor duties for programs that fall within his/her schedule.
  • Must be 16 years old or older.
  • Preferred Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification (WCC will train if Lifeguard Certified).
  • Must hold current Lifeguarding Certification.

Part-Time Lifeguards

Early weekday morning, weekday afternoon, weekday evening, and weekend morning shifts available

As a Lifeguard of the Whitin Community Center, you will be entrusted with the responsibility for Lifeguarding our pools, ensuring the safety of all members and guests, enforcing pool rules, and implementing emergency response plans as needed. We are looking for someone who is energetic, creative, and passionate about working with people of all ages and is excited to make a difference every day in the lives of our swimming community.
Job Requirements
  • Maintain discipline and general safety practices for all that are in the pool area while on duty.
  • Prevent emergencies by scanning the pool in a continuous and consistent manner.
  • Recognize emergencies or potential incidents and address them immediately.
  • Perform assists or rescues as needed.
  • Provide care such as CPR and First Aid as needed.
  • Must be 16 years old or older.
  • Preferred Lifeguarding Certification and/or WSI Training (WCC will train, if needed).

Part-Time Or Full-Time Custodial Staff

Part-time or full-time hours available weekdays and weeknights during the hours of 10am – 10pm

Responsibilities

The role of Custodial Staff is to perform general cleaning and upkeep of the facility and grounds as assigned. This position is responsible for cleanliness and sanitation in all assigned areas. The custodian will also perform routine maintenance as assigned and assist with maintenance jobs requiring more than 1 person and event set up and clean up as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be extremely reliable
  • Must be at least 18 yrs of age
  • Must have own transportation
  • Be able to work independently and is a self-starter
  • Ability to read & interpret instructions, procedures & other documents
  • Possess strong customer service skills
  • Meet the needs of a flexible schedule; holidays, nights, and weekends may be required
  • Other physical and environmental requirements as defined in full job description to be provided

The Group Fitness Aqua Instructor instructs quality Aqua Aerobics classes and provides excellent customer service to members in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness.
Job Requirements
  • Ability to lead energizing, fun, safe, and educational group aqua fitness classes.
  • Knowledge of fitness industry and trends to provide effective information and training to members
  • Must be 18 years old or older.
  • Group Exercise Certification required
  • Preferred CPR/AED & First Aid Certified (we will train)
